First, about YOU:
You are a savvy woman who has a sneaking suspicion that there is something more to this practice of “Yoga” than you’ve been finding at typical group exercise type yoga classes.
You recognize parenting as a pilgrimage and have taken on this immense challenge with fierce determination and a sense of humor. (and a small dose of dazed and confused).
You have an exceptional child who doesn’t fit neatly into the boxes of ever-narrowing social “norms.”
You have a secret yearning to go to India (maybe by Magic Carpet so you could be there for a year and yet not be gone from your family for more than one day) to learn its ancient wisdom and how it can help you find your purpose and live a life of mastery – or at least have more energy to take care of the kids.
You are looking for an alternative way to heal your whole self and whole family.
You wonder if there aren’t some simple daily rituals that can change your life…and your child’s life too.
Have you ever wished you could wave a magic wand that will ensure your child:
~Develops a sense of self that is strong enough to survive the slings and arrows of life?
~Won’t succumb to negative peer influence?
~Has a proper foundation early in life so he can excel later in life?
~Feels like she doesn’t need to be perfect?
You have finally been granted your wish. I can help. I am an exceptional child grown up and a savvy woman myself, when it comes to Yoga. Yoga is much like this magic wand and I can teach you to wield it with grace and ease.
I’ve been helping children and parents just like you for more than 15 years decrease chaos and stress while increasing meaning and purpose.
Though not a parent myself, my mom was a single parent of a sensitive child who had a serious case of colic as a baby. As a young girl, she refused to wear pajamas with elastic in the trim, danced wildly about the house, got lost for hours in the backyard and department store clothing racks, was sent to a child guidance center to deal with emotional regulation and spent waaay too much time in detention as a teen. This child was also an “extremely picky eater.” (yes, that was me…see what a difference yoga can make in someone’s life!)
I’ve learned from my own experience what a child needs to feel balance on all levels and to develop a strong sense of self.
In high school (often reading while grounded), I fell deeply in love with Eastern psychology. I read books like “Be Here Now” and “Journey of Awakening” by Ram Dass. It made so much sense and gave me a deep feeling of recognition and remembering. It’s been my life’s passion ever since.
The science of yoga has been around for thousands of years…
and I have been immersed in the practice and lifestyle for decades. I’m deeply committed to bringing this practice to you in a way that is simple and accessible. Everyone deserves to feel vibrant, connected and at ease. My passion is the well being of children and the adults in their lives. I’m here to support you in creating and sustaining a conscious family lifestyle.
The “aha” moment.
I discovered the practice to be an exquisite way for both children and adults to integrate their sensory experiences while cultivating awareness, balance, stability and openness in both body and mind. This initial insight sparked a passion that continues to burn brightly as I share the timeless teachings of Yoga with students of all ages and abilities.
I’m here to inspire you and your child to live your best life with practical, effective tools from the Yoga tradition.
This comprises conscious breathing, mindful moving, meditation and deep relaxation. Yoga is the science of life. It includes how we eat, sleep, interact with others and think about the world. Bringing more awareness to all that we do and all that we are places us in the driver’s seat of our life. This is living a yoga lifestyle, and I’m your Yoga Life Stylist.
